In fact, social media addiction in daily life is a psychology disorder in which users always spend a lot of time accessing social media due to high curiosity, and lack of activities that support productivity in real life. In addition, because of the use of social media that makes it easier for human life to communicate remotely, making it easier to do business online. Even though social media has its benefits, if it is used continuously throughout the day it can have a bad impact. Actually, social media addiction in daily life is related to health issues because it can cause eyes damage, it can increase stress, and it can lead to depression.
Eyes said "I am so tired, I need a break"
The first reason is social media addiction in daily life can cause eyes damage. It has been argued that social media addiction in daily life is good for health, especially eyes because from social media it can see everything that is interesting to see, by seeing interesting things on social media, it will improve mood when doing activities, but it is actually wrong. In order to social media addiction in daily life is can bring a bad impact on the sense of sight or eyes if it takes too long to access social media, it will make the eyes get tired quickly and cause diseases that can damage the eyes. Prayogo (2021) stated if use smartphone or looking at social media too often will make eye health become reduced it can even be animpact bad for eye health that can because eye damage due to exposure light that enters the human eye. Thus, too often using social media causes addiction and is not good for eye health.
The second reason is social media addiction in daily life can increase stress. Many people said using a social media can reduce stress because with social media it can be looking for entertainment like playing online games or watching some videos on YouTube, but it is actually wrong. When someone is sleep deprived and sleep hours become irregular or experience insomnia, then that person easily stressed and productivity will be disrupted. Ema, Kusuma, and Widiani (2017) stated Adolescents who experience stress sometimes use social media to entertain themselves so the teenagers spend their time sleeping at night. Teenagers are expected to be able to control the habit of using social media excessively so as to avoid
stress that can cause insomnia. If have been sinking too deep in social media, this is the time for the change to begin, spend more time for family, friends, or loved ones by way picnics, going to the cinema or so on, this way will also reduce stress caused by too much playing on social media. Thus, too often use of social media will make people become stressed.
