Firstly, the reason why depression is an unyielding mental problem is because depression can cause the person to have suicidal thought. It has been argued that depression is not a real problem and just a sad feeling that cannot affect someone's mentality. It is actually wrong. Depression can lead person to have suicidal thought because depression is a real problem that can cause people to feel lethargic and uninspired to live their life. Rosyida (2021) Psychologist of Gadjah Mada Medical Center as cited in Satria (2021), said that one of the symptoms of depression is recurring thoughts about death (not fear of death), recurrent suicidal ideation either without a plan or with a clear plan to commit suicide. For an illustration, imagine when a person who previously felt enthusiastic about living their life, then because of depression, all that sense of enthusiasm is lost, of course that person will lose their desire to live their life. When someone is in sadness and there is no way to return to their former life, at that time that person will start thinking about killing themselves. In a word, depression is not a myth, but a real disease that can cause the person to have suicidal thought.

Secondly, the reason why depression is an unyielding mental problem is because depression can cause the person to have anxious. Some people said that anxious is a normal problem that has nothing to do with depression. But it is wrong. A person with depression can have deep anxiety, this is due to the effect of depression which can affect some brain functions. For a normal people feeling anxious is a normal response to stressful situations. But, for a people that have depression, they can have a severe anxiety that occurs as a symptom of depression (Sawchuk, 2017). Brain damage caused by the effects of depression that causes severe anxiety occurs in the amygdala part of the brain which is in charge of controlling physical and psychological responses associated with fear and arousal. So, when the function of the amygdala is overactive in people with depression, this event will cause anxiety disorders (Erica & Kristin, 2021). Of course, a person will not feel calm when they have excessive anxiety, because that person will continue to feel worried about something that is not certain to happen and of course this will have a bad influence on a person's quality of life. For an illustration, there is a person who has a depression and has severe anxiety who in that person’s daily activities has anxiety to live its life. They can not live their life because they are worried about everything. At the end of the day, depression can bring negative impact such as deep anxiety to a person due to the depression that can affect some brain functions.
