Once upon a time there was a very poor family who lived in the middle of the forest. There was a step mom, a dad and his children Hansel and Grethel.

After  Hansel and Grethel's mother had passed away ,their father married another woman .Firstly, they were worried about that step mom was not a good person. They thought that  she was planning to get rid of them as soon as possible.

But after a while they changed their minds. She loved them like her own children. Even if they were so poor they were happy as a family. Their father  has high expectations from them. Because he knew that only way to save themselves is using their minds.

Hansel and Gretel are smart and diligent kids. They like nature want to explore the things around them. One day they see a big house while they are walking on the woods. A woman stirs some mixtures. They think that she likes doing experiments. 

The children approach the old woman and ask what she is doing. The woman who was immersed in her work suddenly winces and as soon as see the children, she gets happy and says;

 ' oh wecome little lovey kids, what are you doing here without your parents? I hope you did't get lost.'

The children said that they wanted to explore the forest and keen on  everything on nature. The  woman stared them and came up with an idea suddenly  and she said ;

 '' wow , that's great , i was a chemist , when i was  younger. I am retired now but if your parents let you i can teach  everything about herbs and nature also we can do experiments together! ''

They really liked this idea. They tought in this way they can help their family. So Hansel and Gretel started to live with this woman. This woman taught them everything she knows. They picked up herbs from trees and mountains and stir them together. They even did ointments and natural medicines.
