"The boy who turned into a spider"

William was a normal boy. He ate cereal every
morning, brushed his teeth then went to school.
He was 10 years old going on 11. And always
loved spiders...

One day when he woke up, he looked around
his room. Everything looked normal. All of
his soccer trophies were on the shelves, the
curtains were closed and the floor was messy.
But then he tried to get out of bed so he could
go enjoy a bowl of cereal. This did not work
out!

When William tried to get out of his bed he
could not. He didn't know why. But then he saw
that he was different. He had transformed into
something smaller. Like...a spider! He was
very confused. Yesterday he was a boy.
A normal boy. But now he was a
spider! What?

William knew that his parents would be
very worried. They will think he is missing!
And if they see a spider in the house, they
will squash it! William didn't know what
to do.

So William decided to write a note to his
parents. He had a very hard time holding
the pen. It was so big!!! But he did it.
This is what the message said...

Dear mom and dad,
I don't know what happened to me. I am not
missing I am just a spider. I have turned
into a spider. If you see any spiders it might
be me, so don't squash it!!! And I don't
know how this happened. I just woke up
and I was magically a spider. Please...I am
sorry to leave you like this!

William thought that he would explore
his house a little. He never really crawled
around on the floor. So that's what he did.

He explored the kitchen. He saw a lot of
crumbs. Maybe from last night's chicken
casserole......yuck!
"Why didn't I sweep the floor better?" he
asked himself quietly.
