Once in the village of Elora,there lived a couple named Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. These people, who lived in a small wooden house with various fruit trees in the garden and fragrant ivy surrounding the garden gate by the gorgeous Grand River, were quite content and happy with their lives. Indeed there weren’t so many things to in this little town.They sometimes walked along the river’s edge. Mr. Anderson went to chop wood some days and Mrs. Anderson, on the other hand, used to sell the vegetables she grew in her garden and made a living this way.

It was a beautiful, graceful hen. Mrs Anderson looked after her with a lot of care. The couple bulit her a cosy henhouse . They called her Betty. The hen spent a lot of time walking around pecking at grain and enjoiyng her life.
Every day the woman took Betty and put her on her knees, petting and talking to her gently. . The hen seemed to be very pleased and enjoy these moments with Mrs Anderson.
One day, in the evening the woman, as usual entered the henhouse. She wanted to say goodbye to her precious hen. It was very dark inside. She was going to light a candle to see Betty. Suddenly, she saw something shimmering at the back. She stood there thinking of what it could be. With fear in her voice, the woman called her husband. Mr Anderson appeared next to her immediately and together came up to the shimmer. They couldn't believe their eyes what they saw.

It was an egg that glowed. In the dark room, it was shining like a candle. Its color was golden yellow. Mr. Anderson took the egg in his hand. He ran his fingers over it. He made a few clicks and confidently turned to his wife: "A golden egg!" said. “How is this possible?” his wife asked i. His wife did not think that was possible and wanted to see if the egg was gold or not. Betty had been staying with Mr and Mrs Anderson for a long time and hadn't laid a single egg. How could a chicken ,which couldn't even lay a normal egg , lay a golden egg? Mrs Anderson brought a candle and lit the room. She could see the egg more clearly now, With sudden joy he hugged Betty whom they had long since given up. Then he took the egg in his hands and examined it carefully. He was suspicious of the egg, which was quite light for a golden egg.

Mrs. Anderson couldn't believe her eyes. How could a hen lays golden egg?
Excitedly, she took the egg in her hand and started running towards the house.

Mr. Anderson came running into the kitchen. Ms. Anderson said that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't crack the egg.
Then Mr. Anderson went to the supplies room and took a hammer. He went back to the kitchen and tried to break the egg by placing it on the table. He hit the egg hard with a hammer several times. No matter how hard he hit, he couldn't break it. The egg was never broken.
Ms. and Mr. Anderson were thinking about how to crack the egg. They stood desperately across from the egg, looking at each other.

Suddenly, a mouse appeared from nowhere and told them that he can crack the egg, only if they promise they won't tell anyone about his appearance in their house.
It was a talking mouse, which can crack everything he wants.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, promised not to tell anyone about this and the mouse believed them.
So, the mouse told them that he will tell them the secret how they can do this. The secret is that anyone who will sing a spring song near the egg will be able to crack it.
So Mr. and Mrs. Anderson started to sing the song and after a few seconds.....
