It was a fall day, and the air was crisp and cool. Apples on apple trees were ripe and juicy. Bright yellow sunflowers bloomed everywhere and filled Georgina and Anne's backyard.

"Do you think that the scarecrow looks perfect?" Anne asked her sister Georgina.
"It looks perfect!" remarked Georgina.

Georgina was a 10 year old girl who loved solving mysteries and making friends. Her younger sister, Anne was 8 years old and loved creating things. It was her idea to build a scarecrow in the backyard. They loved playing outdoors in their lush green backyard. On the weekends, they liked sitting on the hammock and reading Nancy Drew series.

Georgina and Anne had just finished building and decorating the scarecrow in their backyard. The scarecrow had an orange shirt and blue pants. It had a straw hat, sticks for arms, and boots.

"Girls, time for snack," called their mom.
"Coming," responded the girls.
After a couple of seconds, they dashed inside and munched on the cookies.
After that, they headed to the backyard. Right then, Georgina and Anne's jaws dropped.
"Where did the scarecrow go?" stuttered Anne.
"I don't know!" cried Georgina.

Their eyes welled with tears! To their surprise, the scarecrow was missing! They walked home with heavy footsteps.

"Mama," Georgina sobbed as they dashed to the kitchen.
"Do you know where the scarecrow is?" asked Anne in a shaky voice.
"No," said their mom in a soothing voice.
"You should check in the neighborhood," suggested mom.
"Ok," said Georgina trembling.

Shortly after that, they checked in the backyard again just to make sure that the scarecrow wasn't there. Instead, they found a note which said- Thank you for making me.
Suddenly, Anne's eyes opened wide!
"Look at those footprints!" hollered Anne.
