The Tale of Three Apples Falling from the Sky

NASRETTIN HOCA HAS BROUGHT A KAZAN

Salt in your food
by Petre Ispirescu
Once upon a time there was a king who had 3 daughters. One day, he asked them how much they loved him. The oldest said that she loved him like honey, the middle one said that she loves him like sugar, and the youngest said that she loves him like salt in his food.
The king got really angry when he heard the last answer, therefore he exiled her from his kingdom. She ran away until she found another kingdom, where she started working as a regular person. The empress took note of her and started to love her like her own daughter.

When the empresses’ son came back wounded from a war, the girl started to take care of him. When he was fully healed, he fell in love with his caretaker.

They had a huge wedding and every king and emperor was invited to this event. The girl though had a peculiar request: to serve food without any salt for a particular king, just with sugar and honey.
The king noticed that the food was weird and tasteless, and started to demand the reason for this. His daughter came and told her side of the story, and he finally understood what she meant and just how much she loved him.
Love you, Dad!
