Lulu is an 11 years old girl born with albinism. she comes from a village called Nkande. When she was born her father denied her and left lulu and her mother. Regardless of the rejection from her husband, lulu's mother continued to raise her child on her own.
Growing up Lulu never engaged with other children in her community or at school. The parents of the children did not want their kids to be close to Lulu as they thought that they would get sick as they thought that albinism is a contagious sickness.
In the community and at school, Lulu was treated like a ghost. No one wanted to sit with her, eat with her, play with her, or even talk to her. this not only affected her emotionally but also affected her academics. During group activities, no one wanted to partner with Lulu. The teachers faced a problem as they did not know how to help Lulu.
