Dedicated to my 7th grade students of the "Abelardo Monacyo" Educational Unit, who are my inspiration to continue with my educational mission.

It was a morning of English classes, I just gave them the topic of the day and I instructed the students to write example sentences and then represent them graphically. Three of the twenty students answered negatively that they would not do it, simply because they did not want to carry out the activity.
Mitigate risk and enrich links
I felt that the students were unmotivated and formed groups for the activity, allowing them to interact meaningfully with each other and resolve the refusal to work.
Listen! ..........
Set clear and firm limits
Then, I communicated to everyone about the rules and work instructions; Appoint a leader, the contribution of each one and the grade depends on teamwork. I was able to communicate clearly to them so that they decide to find the answers and develop their creativity.
Teach life skills
Later, I approached the groups and noticed that some students were quiet. I started to motivate them, to help them with daily examples, with questions and I celebrated their initiatives. I tried to make them evaluate their abilities, value themselves and feel useful in any situation.
Build resilience
When they finished the activity, I asked them to present the group work and those students who initially retracted raised their hands to come forward. They demonstrated the satisfaction of taking the initiative and relating to others. So, I asked for applause, congratulated and smiled.
Provide affection and support
However, other classmates laughed at the participation of those students. I observed that they felt marginalized and unappreciated. Immediately, I told them about my own experience focusing on the affection and support that is required in a group or in a community. At the end, we sang a song of friendship.
Set and convey high expectations
Suddenly, a female student said out loud -My colleagues know more than me. I replied that each one develops their abilities differently, setbacks could arise and that there is no problem if the excellence of others is appreciated.
At the end of the class, I asked the students to help a classmate to clear up any doubts regarding the class topic worked on. With this opportunity, they helped each other, contributed their energy and collaborative skills in a stimulating environment.
