Axolotls are amazing creatures! Well known for their external gills,  goofy smiles, and being almost identical to salamander larvae; not only are these creatures cute, but they have some incredible super powers!

You may be asking yourself "What makes them so special?" Well, axolotls are not only super adorable but have some crazy regenerative abilities. These fellows can regrow nearly any part of their body without developing any scars. This includes entire limbs, organs, gills, and even spinal chord! They are heavily studied in labs in hopes of learning how to regrow limbs and cure paralysis. 

Despite their amazing regenerative abilities axolotls are very delicate and susceptible to illnesses. They require very specific water conditions to thrive. Because of this, they are only found in one lake in the entire world!
