Adaline was born not as a homeless person. Her family was actually one of the richest families in town. The Brown family has been in Bridgeport since the beginning of it all. So once the town heard Adaline had been kicked out for unknown reasons everyone was curious. Of course Adaline knew why she got kicked out, and that reason was for fighting for the homeless downtown. She attended a protest downtown fighting for a homeless shelter to open because the homeless rate was starting to sky rocket.

Her mom saw this and was furious, she called Adaline down stairs and said “Adaline, I have never been so disappointed in you. You fight for your people, not others.” Adaline looked appalled and replied with “ Oh so when you mean my people you mean the rich? Listen we have all this money and you only have one kid. You could be a nice person and invest it in that homeless shelter. I mean you just stay home all day while Dad works all day.” Her mom was furious and couldn’t believe she could ever feel such betrayal from her own blood. “Well if you want to fight for the homeless why not be them. As of today I am kicking you out.” Adaline’s mom says while leading her towards the door. “Fine if you want to be like that.” Adaline walks out with what she had on which was her silk pajamas, a hair tie, and her house slippers.

Adaline walks all the way downtown seeing the views that she has now seen in a whole different spotlight. She walks by a homeless man with a sign saying “ANYTHING HELPS.” She usually always donates but once again she walked out with just her pajamas and slippers. She realized she needs a plan so she can show her mom she doesn’t need money to be successful. She starts walking towards the homeless shelter, because technically she is homeless. She grabs some new clothes, a bath, and even a new friend named Reggie.

Adaline is now a new woman with a new life and her first goal is to find a job. She sees the convenience store across the street is hiring so she runs way too excitedly to get this job. Entering the store its a ghost town, seeing the cashier she goes up to him and asked “Hey I saw the sign out there, I was wondering if those positions was still available.” He looked at Adaline with a careless attitude “Yeah sure. When do you want to work?” “Right now if possible!” She expresses with a smile on her face. He laughs “Okay fine, here take over my shift. I don’t get off till 8.” Adaline peaks at the clock in the upper left corner and saw it was 10 am. Adaline becomes to worry but knows in the end she will not regret it. Then the cashier gives her his jacket and heads off. “Well at least it isn’t busy.” She chuckles nervously.
Adaline starts to think of when she was a teenager attending the extremely rich school and hanging with her extremely rich friends. She had no care or worry in the world and knew she could get out of any trouble. Knowing that she decided to test that theory and still some clothes at the local mall. The mall was pretty small and there wasn’t really any camera since they were a trusted neighborhood. She stole some jewelry and socks. The adrenaline and excitement she got from the feeling of getting away with it made her happy but only for that moment. Once outside she sees that she did something wrong and feels worst then she did.
She never wanted to feel like that ever again. Adalaine had a rush of confidence flush through her because she was glad she stood up to her mom.
The teenagers walked into the store and the first thought Adaline felt was “Its time to work”. The group of teenagers was a mix of two girls and two boys. They looked really close since they walked so close to each other. Adaline wonder why they never spread out to go to different sections of the store. Then she looks up at the monitors where the security cams are shown and see them go to the liquor section. Immediately an alarm rings in her head, because she isn’t stupid her friends used to do this all the time. She walks away from the counter and the group sees her. They dropped the bottle on the ground making it break and leak everywhere.
Adaline got a hold of one of the boys right before he hit the door, “What are you guys doing? Don’t you know better?” He pulls her hand off his shoulder “Listen we were just trying to have fun.”, he reaches into his pocket, “Look her a $100 bill and yes it’s real. I know you never seen one before but just take it. That should be able to pay for the damages done to the ground.” He opens the door and runs to catch up to his friends. Adaline’s facial expressions says it all. The disbelief that someone just thinks that it can just go away with a $100 dollar bill. As Adaline is still processing what just happened she grabs the mop and broom to clean.
Her shift is finally over, but she still is in need of housing. She walks all the way back to her old neighborhood just to talk to her best friend Claire. She feels as though Claire always has her back and would help her if she needs it. Adaline arrives at Claire's bright red house with a nice white fencing. She knocks on the door and she worries because it is 10 pm and nobody might answer. Claire opens the door and Adaline has never been so relieved, she runs up to her and gives her a big hug. Out of nowhere Claire pushes her off and says “What are you doing here?” She walks out to the porch and closes the door. “I’m sorry my mom kicked me out and I have nowhere else to go and I miss you” Adaline starts crying. “Well. I’m sorry that happened to you but you can’t be here.” Claire says. “What do you mean?”
Adlaine clear her tears. “Look your mom called a neighborhood meeting with the moms and told everyone what happened. I can’t believe you can do such a thing.” Adaline makes a puzzling face and says “What do mean? I got kicked out, I didn’t do anything.”. Claire explains, “She said you called her the worst mom ever and wished you were born into different family.” Adaline's tears fall once again. “Look I would never say that. I was just stating my opinion and she went crazy on me. Listen please be my best friend I know you are, and help me out for tonight? Please, I'm begging.”.
