The Night Before College...

By: Ella Ward
It's the night before college and the family is buzzing around...
Piles and piles of suitcases and luggage are scattered across the kitchen ground.

Dad is going over the packing list again and again, while mom finds the once little girl and lifts up her chin.

"Why are you sad?" asks mom with concern.
But the once little girl couldn't quite answer and just stood sternly.

Her mind was racing, playing memories from the past.
As a "once little girl," she never dreamed this day would come so fast.

She thought of the days when she would cuddle up with mom,
and play baby panda until she was peaceful and calm.
She thought of dancing with dad and being so little he could carry,
and whispering to mommy that dad was the person she wanted to marry.

She thought of princess costumes, Barbie, and dressing up Maggie too,
and thinking all her toys were real, especially Winnie the Pooh.

She thought of playing with Brayden and Carson outside in the yard,
and trying to keep up with her little legs, although it was very hard.
