There is a new monster in town.

It has a weird name,it's got numbers too-COVID-19.

All the animals are rushing to their shelters. All the trees have closed down for work and the King has told everyone that they won't be open anytime soon.

Peter the Panda has been sent home from Tree School. He is very scared. He does not like monsters.

Peter Panda has been told that the King is holding a secret meeting with Doctor Owl and his other Teddy Bear Subjects.

The matter is serious.

The monster can make people sick and even take the life of those not strong enough to protect themselves and take the necessary precautions.

The King has decided to make an announcement.

The next day, the king came on TV to tell his subjects about the monster. "Its name is Covid-19, and it is a contagious virus." 

"What's a contagious virus?" asked Peter.

"It means it is a sickness that can be spread to other people," said his parents.

"The virus spreads in three ways. If you are near someone with the virus, there are particles of it in their breath, which can then spread to you. These particles also spread when people cough or sneeze. If the particles get on your hands and you touch your face, that's another way to get it," said the king.

"However do not worry!

There are steps we can take to protect ourselves.

Make sure to wash your paws as often as you can, and don't just sprinkle them with water! Unless they have been cleaned, don't share toys, because they have the germs from your hands. Also, be extra careful to cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze and cough. "

Wash for 20 seconds. Try singing happy birthday twice! Don’t forget the backs of your hands, your fingernails, and between your fingers.

On the King's speakers, further instructions blared.

"Because of this new virus, we now have some new strategies we usually do not use to fight against this monster. If you are inside or somewhere with a lot of people, wear a face mask, and be sure to cover your mouth and nose. This helps keep the germs from your mouth and nose away from everyone."

"Lastly, my dear subjects, I have some very exciting news! Our scientists have been working very hard to bring us our new hero, the Covid-19 vaccine! It has what we need in order to fight the monster off in our own bodies, and all it takes is two shots and a booster every now and then. Right now, everyone 6 months and older can get it, so if possible, please do! This is one of the best ways to slow down that pesky monster. If you can't for any reason, please try to not get too close to others."

"Now that we have all of these great weapons against the Covid monster, we can go back to work, school, and all the things we love, as long as we are extra careful to do everything I just told you."

"Hooray!" cried Peter. He was so excited to go back to school and learn with his friends with all the nex tricks he just learned.
