The Lesson
Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Peter. He was a naughty little boy. He never did his chores and left them for his sisters to do instead of him. Soon enough mother had enough. "Peter, come here!" yelled mother. Peter came in the front door, "What mother?" he asked with much sarcasm. "Peter, go get water from the well for supper." Peter groaned. "But mother can't Sarah?" he asked. "No, you go," snapped mother. Peter quickly scrambled out the door.
Peter jogged to the well. It took only about ten minutes or so to reach the well. Once he arrived, he got the water and lifted it up on his shoulders. Peter stumbled; the bucket was very heavy. He took little steps. Once he was almost home, sweat fell from his face. He put the bucket down for a break.

He breathed heavily. He was only a boy of eight.
Once he reached his house, his mother came out. "Thank you," Mother said. "Now go get another bucket," Mother said. "What!? But Mother!" Peter begged. "Go." Peter sulked over to the bucket and poured the water into something else. And started on. By the time he had reached the well the sun was setting. Peter thought he heard something in the forest, but that only made him go faster. He quickly filled the bucket and started to slowly walk up the hill.
He started to walk faster. It was getting dark, and he didn't want his family to eat supper without him. Finally, he reached the house. He wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Here mother," he said. "Very good, now one more bucket please." "What!? No mother. Please! Its dark and I-I'm hungry!" Peter yelled at his mother." "One more bucket!" his mother snapped. Peter's eyes widened. "Ok," he answered. And raced out into the dark.
