Walter lives with his family under the sea.

He likes swimming with his friends and eating kelp and discovering new things.

One day, Walter was swimming too quickly along the clear blue waters of Ginhawang Bughaw and didn’t notice the pieces of plastic trapping him.

He wiggled and waggled and tried to swim free, but to no avail. Walter was stuck.

Help!

A few feet away was a little boy swimming towards Walter.

The little boy pulled at the plastic around Walter until he was free.

Help!

“Why wouldn’t I?” said the little boy.

“People don’t care about us fish,” said Walter. “They throw garbage at our home and leave waste on our lands.”

“Our home used to be free of plastic, free of danger, but now we have to be careful about where we swim,” Walter went on.

“Oh no,” said the little boy. “That’s terrible. Why would they do that?”

Walter sighed and told the little boy all about the people who take more than they need from the water,  how they leave trash in the sea.

The little boy could not believe his ears. The little boy whose name, Walter learned, was Tommy so badly wanted to help Walter and his fish friends but didn’t know how.
