Hello. My name's Katie. The hurricane happened a year ago. Let's  back to that, now! "Hera" (that's my identical twin) "it's breakfast time. You're gonna be late for school!" That's my mommy. "Coming!" said Hera. I live in florida. So I checked the whether channel. "Hey, a tropical storm is headed our way." I said. "Tropical storm shmopical storm." mommy said. "C'mon, go to school."

As usual, I was handed my D-. "Hey, dork!" That's Naithan. He's a bully. "Do you always get a D-, or do you get D-s and Fs?" As usual, I ignored him. But in case you're wondering, it's the second one. I checked the whether channel, again. "Hey, mommy, it has gone up to a category one!" "That quickly?" Let's go to the store, and get some canned food, a flashlight, and some bottled water." The wind speed was eighty-five miles per hour. So, we went into our 1995 VW. Although, its condition made it look like a 1280 VW, if they were around, back then. 

Apparently, people were starting to hear about the hurricane. Everyone was at the store! It was so packed, it was like being in a human-traffic-jam! And they had to wait an hour to get the stuff that they wanted. It was an estimated week away. It was getting more severe, very quickly. "Let's get in the car." My mommy said.

The next day, I woke up, checked the whether channel, what're you doing?! ugh! Not now mommy! I was about to get to the suspenseful part! Sorry. As I was saying, it had strengthened to a category three hurricane! It had entered the rhelm of major hurricanes. Or 120 mph-129 mph. And, just so you know, at the time, it was 129. "Oh no!" I said. "Mommy, the hurricane is now category three!" "Oh no!" Mommy said. "We should get away!" "Can't" All the pilots and drivers have left, and all the roads are closed down!" I said. "Oh no! We need to get some planks for the windows! Now!" So, we went to the store and bought a bunch of planks for the windows. And, also, a bunch of food (like a ton of food, like the two thousand pound kind)

We came back home. I checked the whether channel. It was a category five, with a wind speed of 160 mph! Category five is the strongest type of hurriccane in the world! Their wind speed is one hundred fifty seven mph! They can cause hundreds of billions of dollars in damage! And we were unable to evacuate! It was a recipe for diseaster! "Let's go to a hotel." Said mommy. "They're safer than houses." So, we went to a hotel. It was disgusting. Their were horse flies in the kitchen, some gross-looking liquid in the bedrooms, and some yellow-and-brown stuff that I don't know and don't want to know what it is. I actually know what it is. and it's pretty gross. And the water in the shower was so dirty, that is was brown.

We woke up the next morning the wind speed of the hurricane was one hundred eighty mph. With gusts of two hundred and two mph. (Gusts are short times which the wind speed is shortly higher.) The horse flies were particularly agressive. It got to the point that people were running outta the room 'cause the horse were acting more like killer bees. Pretty bad. "Hey, anybody wanna go to bed?" Mommy said. "Yes!" We both yelled. The bedroom was totally disgusting. It had liquidy-looking stuff all over the walls. And it had some dirt in the sheets and cockroaches in the pillow case. It was pretty disgusting.
