Dogs A Great Pet!
Dogs are the first domestic animal which means they are all pets not wild ( like their ancestors). They are descended from wolves, and are now bred by people. People use careful selective breeding. At first, we focused on qualities that would help us get work done, breeding dogs to be even better guards and hunters.
Today, most dogs are pets and live with there people, and others are used for work.
Dogs are à part of à family called the: Canidae, or the Canids. There scientific name is: Canis Lupus Familiaris. The large Canid family includes about three dozen species ( 34 to 38, depending on whom you ask.) Dogs are very unique because of their diversity.
Home Sweet Home!
Before dogs lived with people, scientists have found out that they lived like wolves in the woods. So there natural habitat is the woods. They have been living with people for more than 30,000 years. They may have even changed the course of human history! It’s hard to pinpoint exactly where and when wolves transformed into dogs and how they spread through the world. Ancient American dogs, descended from Asian dogs that arrived with their people thousands of years ago, disappeared after European colonists came with their dogs in the 15th century.
My Menu's Mine
People can feed their dog à pure kibble diet which is dog food. Or you could mix their diet up with some meat cooked or raw, vegetables like: carrots, and rice. Many owners feed their dog raw meat. If dogs were in the wild they would eat meat like their ancestors.
How it Began
How it began: our ancient ancestors would hunt animals to survive. After devouring meat and using whatever part of the animal they needed, they’d throw the rest of the animals carcass away. Some clever wolves realized that our ancestors leftovers would make an easy meal. The wolves that came closest got the prize. Not every wolf dared to come near people, of course. The wary ones stayed away and remained wolves. But the ones enjoying our scraps got more comfortable hanging around humans. Over time, they bonded with our ancestors, gradually becoming less wild and eventually becoming dogs. The tamer the wolves became, the more they changed in appearance. Wolves are designed for hunting. Their large and have long, powerful jaws to take down prey.
Our Canine Companions
You’ve heard the expression: Dogs are our best friends. From the towering Irish Wolfhound to the tiny Chihuahua, these social animals are part of our pack. They play with us, snuggle up to our sides, greet us with wagging tails---and sometimes gnaw on our slippers or swip our food when we aren’t looking. Dogs have been part of our packs for so long they may have even changed the course of human history!
Next book is....
Do you think you are ready to get a dog?

Barking is a way of talking like us people can! But can dogs talk to us?... Yep, they can! In the end of the book you'll the different ways dogs talk to us!
Tips and tricks!
This page is about the tips and tricks that I've learned as a pet owner!
1. For the start of training I recommend using treats! A reason is because you have to let new dogs to the learning system a have a little more Confidence!
2. For some of the time you should use their favorite toy, treats, or even food!
3. When you start training pets (dogs) you should be patient because sometimes if you just got a dog, it probably needs time to adjust to the new change!
4. Don't immediately start training.
Recommended toys and treats for training your dogs!
I like to get Manny Zukes they are dog treats! So, if you ever want to know what kind of treats to get your dog, those are really good! Manny always wants more, after. But, those aren't the only thing you can train your dog with. Toys could also be recommended, here are a few:
1. "Stuffed" animals the kind that don't have to hard eyes because dogs can choke on them.
2. Kong's they are rubber chewy toys so if your dog is tethering you should get your dog any kind of kong.
If you would like to train your dog you should read the following pages if not skip past them. Also every pet should have the opportunity to learn, so take time out of your day, so you can give them what they need.
But every, owner needs to take responsibility meaning doing what you have to do for the pet not just dogs.
Tricks to teach your dog and you!
Now getting a dog can be exciting! so to prepare you for what's to come why not read more of this book!
Teach your dog: Sit!
1. find a quiet place bring your dog and treats.
2. Start by having your dog face you, then make a fist with the treat inside of it.
3. say sit after five that your dog has done it.

Teach your dog to lay down
1. Find a QUIET space with your dog and treats.
2. Get your dog to sit (PG. 5).
3. Again hold the treat in a fist and ut it to the chest of your dog. (DO NOT FEED THE DOG YET)
4. Bring your fist with the treat in it down to the ground.
5. Practice 5 times or more.
6. After start saying Down or Lay down
Practice
Teach your dog to STAY and COME
1. Find A QUIET place with your furry friend and treats (Toys and food work just as fine!)
2. Put your hand out in front of the dog. Your other hand in a fist with the reward inside of it.
3. Take a few steps back and bend down. That signals to the dog to come.
4. Practice 5 times or more.
5. Now add the words Stay and Come.
The next pages will be for breaking bad behaviors in your dog, like jumping on counters, or even tethering.
Q&A on tethering
Q: Why is my dog chewing all our furniture?
A: Well I think it's tethering. Tethering is when your dog is growing it's first teeth. It may or may not hurt them but no matter what they'll chew everything.
Q: How can I stop it?
A: You can get him a Kong or rubber toy that your dog likes to chew.

KONG!
Is your dog jumping on the counter?
Here is my way to stop them from doing! But..., there is still other ways, ok? Well, anyway here's mine:
When you catch your dog jumping on the counter, what do YOU do? Of course, you pull them to the ground. Well, now you won't do it again! If you say down yell, it, to get attention from your dog, and point to the ground, then continue doing it the more you do it the better!
Thats my way.
Remember to have treats at the beginning of training your dogs down.

Dog on Counter
(BIG)
The Big question:
Do you let your dog(s) eat string?
If I were you I wouldn't let my dog eat string, it could get caught in your dog's stomach or something
If you notice your dog eating string just take the toy away and cut off the string then give it back.
