"Surprise!", everyone shouted as Milly entered the room. It was Milly's 10th birthday and her parents had planned a party without her knowing.

Milly was so shocked she just stood in the doorway frozen. After several minutes she began to look around. All of her friends and family were there, even her dog was there. There were balloons, streamers, and signs everywhere.

In the back of the room there were beautiful tables full of food and even three layer cake. On the side of the room next to the patio door there was a gift table full of beautifully wrapped gifts that shimmered in the sun coming through the door. 

Milly began talking with everyone and was having a great time. Milly's parents asked everyone to please go outside.

Once everyone was outside the kids played lots of games. When playing tug-of-war Milly and her friend Sam fell into mud. Milly's mom went inside with them to help them clean up.

As soon as Milly, Sam, and Milly's mom entered the room they knew something was wrong. The gift table was empty!

Milly began to cry, but her mom told her to calm down and that the gifts had to be somewhere.

After cleaning the girls up Milly's mom went outside and told everyone about the missing gifts.
