Softball is a seven-inning game. The goal of the game is to score more runs than your opponent in those seven innings.

One aspect of the game you will play is defense. Defense is when you and your team are on the field. The objective is to not let the other team score by getting three outs.

There are nine players on defense at a time. In the infield, where the dirt is, there is a catcher, pitcher, shortstop, first baseman, second baseman, and third baseman.

There are also outfielders, they play in the grass on the field. There is a left fielder, a right fielder, and a center fielder.
