The US has been threatened and war is on the way. The redcoats are coming.

In the white house, the president is told the news. He then has to make a decision will war be declared. 

Even though the president

is going to be making decisions on war, he needs congress's approval to start the war.

Even if the president wants to go to war he need the approval of congress. This is called check and balances. Checks and balances makes sure no one branch takes to much power.

The president then goes to congress to ask for their approval.  

When he gets to congress, the president must ask for their approval to go to war. 

Congress now has to make a decision of whether or not to let the president go to work. 

Once they make a decision, the president can't act against it.
