Hi, my name is Susan.
I am a 1st grader.
I have a problem at school.
I noticed something is unfair.

Mrs. Larson asked for three strong helpers to assist Mr. Jackson, the custodian, to move tables for the fall festival.
Joey, Bob, and Steve got to go help. But no girls.
I felt left out. I'm strong too.
At home, I help my mom bring in the groceries.
I help my dad build new shelves.
I play soccer with my brother and sister. I am very strong.
Why can't I help at school?

The next time Mrs. Larson asked for a helper, I raised my hand really fast.
"I can help. I am very strong!" I said.
"She is," Bob chimed in. I got to go help lift lemonade jugs onto the tables for the fall festival. The boys were impressed.
It feels good to be the teacher's helper.
