We celebrate Halloween on the 31st October each year.
It used to be called All Hallow's Day/ Samhain.
In the past, people used to carve turnips!
Now we carve pumpkins.
People used to burn fires called 'Bonfires' on Halloween.
In the past, people dressed up in costumes to scare other people. We continue to dress up for Halloween.
Do you like to dress up for Halloween?

Years ago, people went to their neighbours to sing songs and tell stories. They would sometimes be given food.
Now, we go 'trick or treating' for sweets.

People used to 'bob for apples' in the past- this means they would try and bite apples floating in a basin of water.
