Intro to Water Resources Managment

Our story begins with our water droplet relaxing in a small lake. He is currently in his liquid state. As Solar Radiation from the Sun heats the water in the lake, our Water Droplet begins to change.

What a beautiful sunny day!

As the sun warms the lake, our droplet's molecules begin to vibrate and move so quickly that he escapes into the atmosphere, in a process known as Evaporation.

I'm feeling light-headed!
Our water droplet, now in a gas form known as water vapor, collects with other water droplets in the sky. As the air cools, our water droplet experiences another change. The cool air converts the vapor into liquid again, and forms a cloud. This process is known as Condensation.

Hey guys, how's it going!
As the cloud becomes saturated with water droplets, the next step in our water droplet's journey begins. The next step in the process is called Precipitation, or rain. Our water droplet falls from the clouds towards the ground.

WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Our water droplet lands on the Earth, and this time, is absorbed by the soil on the ground. Our water droplet is now called Groundwater. As groundwater, our droplet will now be absorbed by the roots of plants.
