Antidepressants

Psychotherapy
OR
EXERCISE
There are several different treatment options for depression including antidepressants and psychotherapy. Physical activity is one of the ways that can effectively treat depression. It works because most of those who struggle with depression do not feel like doing anything or moving. Exercise can remove these symptoms and get rid of these feelings.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND IT

Exercise is scientifically proven to improve mood and decrease anxiety. Being physically active releases chemicals, or more specifically endorphins, in the brain that stimulate feel-good emotions. Exercise has a positive impact on the brain's metabolism. Physical activity also increases the individual's sense of well-being as a result of the natural release of these chemicals in the brain.
HOW IT WILL HELP WITH DEPRESSION

Physical activity will prevent the cycle of negative thoughts that come from depression. It gives the mind something else to be preoccupied with. Exercising and participating in sports also allows the individual who struggles with depression the opportunity to meet and talk to new people. Physical activity increases the person's social interactions and allows them to gain confidence which can help in the treatment of depression.
OPPOSING VIEWPOINTS
Study By: Matthew Pearce, PhD; Leandro Garcia, PhD; Ali Abbas, PhD in April of 2022

People may disagree that physical activity is an effective treatment for depression. They may say that it makes the individual too exhausted and more depressed after exercising or playing in a sport. They may believe that it will not treat depression and only make it worse.
This opposing viewpoint is incorrect because there have been various studies that have observed the effects of physical activity on depression. Their results have always been in a positive light. Exercise is an excellent way for the brain to naturally release positive endorphins which cause the individual struggling with depression to feel more cheerful and optimistic.
