It has been a few days since Aiden started at his new school Bright Futures Academy. At home, with his family, he gushes about how much he likes his new school and his favorite parts of the day. However, at school, he is noticeably quiet. Ms. Tiphani, Aiden's new teacher, has noticed that he has been non-verbal during the week.

Hi Aiden! Are you okay?
The first few days, she thought it was due to him being shy or nervous, but by day four, she started to become concerned. She would ask him if he was okay, and he would nod. She observed him playing with his classmates but noticed he did not respond verbally.

When Aiden's parents picked him up in the afternoon, Ms. Tiphani expressed her concerns regarding his behavior. After discussing her observations with Aiden's parents, they also expressed concerns regarding the information she shared because Aiden has no issue speaking at home.
His parents shared that they would talk with Aiden, and they would like for her to continue her observation of him to see if his behavior continued after their discussion. If his behavior continued, they would have him evaluated.

Is everything okay at school?
Later that evening, Aiden's parents came to his room to talk to him. They asked him if everything was okay at school. He told them that he liked school and his friends but was scared to talk to anyone.
