Do you know the types of animals there are?
The world is full of many different types of animals.
We classify them into categories according to certain characteristics.
Some swim, some fly, some breathe air, and some breathe underwater, some have skeletons and others don't..
The system for animal classifications is called taxonomy.




The two largest groups of animals are vertebrates and invertebrates.



Vertebrates animals have backbones!
Invertebrates do not have backbones!
VERTEBRATES ANIMALS.

Most of them have hair or fur.
They suck from the milk that produces their mother.
They give birth to live babies.
They are warm-blooded.
Mammals are more intelligent than others animals.
The biggest mammal is the blue whale and the smallest is the bumblebee bat.
Mammals that eat meat are carnivores, mammals that eat plants are herbivores and mammals that eat both are omnivores.







FISH.
They are called aquatic vertebrates.
They have gills for breathe underwater.
A group of fish is a shoal or school.
They have small brain compared to others animals.
They are covered in scales.
The Whale Shark is the biggest fish in the world.






They are cold-blooded vertebrates, they have to lay out in the sun to keep their body warm.
They are born on land and alone.
Most of them eat insects and other animals, so they are carnivorous.
The main categories of reptiles are: snakes, crocodiles and alligators, turtles and lizards.
The biggest reptile is the saltwater crocodile.
The smallest reptile is the mini chameleon.
