Today is a very special day! Not only is it a beautiful autumn morning, but it is Phoebe's first day of school as well. She can hardly wait to meet all of her classmates.

The morning flew by and the classes have all been let out for recess. Phoebe walks over to a group of students she hears talking.

Her fur is blue...that's so weird!

Did you see the new student??

Surprised and upset by what she heard, Phoebe ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. She had never thought twice about her blue fur before. Phoebe started to cry.

The next morning, Phoebe dreads going to school. She is scared that other students will make fun of her again. She even tries wearing a hat so they won't notice her fur. Phoebe really wants to make a friend.

Phoebe sits alone at recess again, until another student walks over to her. 

Yea! I'd love that.

Hi, my name is Blu! I love your hat. The green matches perfectly with your fur! Can I sit with you?

Phoebe and Blu play, laugh and share snacks for the rest of recess. Phoebe is so happy to have finally made a friend. She admires all of Blu's beautiful colors.
