Hello Everyone! I am Carl Carbohydrates, but you 

can call me Carl!

I want to talk to you today about a special source of 

energy in your body! You can't see me because I'm so 

small, but I have many friends who look exactly like 

me (gazillions to be exact)!

We come from the food you eat! We are in 

everything (almost)!

If you want my friends and I to hang out with you, 

eat bread, potatoes, and even pretzels!

What do I do? I give you energy! Think of my 

friends and I like batteries for your body! We give 

you energy when you need it, and hold it when you 

don't!

We love hanging out with bread, potatoes, and even 

some fruits!

If you want to have lots of energy and be like 

Superman, then eat your breads and fruits and 

potatoes!

He loves getting carbohydrates, and so should 

you!

After getting your carbohydrates, you will have 

enough energy to be Superman!

You can do anything with carbohydrates!
