Have you ever heard of a lucky duck? It's someone who always has good luck. Well, I'm the opposite, an unlucky duck. I have bad luck.

It started on the day I hatched. I was so excited to see my mother, but she was nowhere to be found.

Off in the distance, I saw my mother and siblings swimming away. I started to cry; I had the worse luck! How could my family leave me?

Then, out of nowhere, a frog appeared.
I can help you! I'm a leapfrog who can hop across the pond and find your mother.

I watched from a distance as the frog hopped across the pond. He finally reached my mother! I started waving excitedly. My luck is turning around.

My mother found me! I watched as she swam across the pond to come back for me.
Oh, little duck, I would never leave you!

I realized I'm not a lucky duck after all. I'm a lucky duck because I have my family!
