
Sage was a princess in a village called Woodville. Most of the time Sage spent her time locked up in her castle because her mother wouldn't let her leave. Sage has always wanted to be like a normal kid who went to school. But most of all, she wanted friends.


One night, as Sage was in her bed her mother came in. It was the day before Sage's birthday and her mother asked what Sage wanted for her birthday. Sage said she wanted to go to school, and her mother shook her head no. She said that the outside world is very scary, and that Sage was safer at home.


As Sage was doing garden work, she saw another person standing near her fence. She walked closer to see who and it was a girl. Sage said hello and the girl waved hi.



The girls started talked and Sage asked the girl what her name was. Her name was Amara. Soon, Sage heard her mother coming and told Amara to come tomorrow at 3 o'clock at the fence. Then Amara agreed and left.


When Sage went inside, her mother asked what took so long. Sage said the plants were dying so she needed to water them. Her mother shrugged and said she watered them a day ago and sent sage to bed.


The next morning Sage got up excited to see Amara again. But it was only 10 am and there was still a couple hours to go before she could see Amara. She quickly ran downstairs and asked her mother once more if she could go to school and her mother said no,
