Once upon a time, in a farm down in Australia, there lived a 

big bird named Emu Bird. He was a big, tall, and handsome 

bird. Sadly, Emu Bird was very lonely. All of his friends 

left him behind, so he felt so alone. 

In a distant land, there lived a bird named Goose. Unlike 

Emu Bird, Goose was not big. However, Goose was pretty 

and smart. Sadly, Goose was also lonely. Her friends left 

her behind so she also felt lonely. 

One dusk, a Hummingbird was flying across the sky when he saw 

Goose frowning and feeling blue. So he flew lower and asked 

her, "Hello, pretty Goose. What makes you sad on this beautiful 

day? Don't you like the beautiful sun setting in the west?"

"Oh, kind Hummingbird. It's beautiful alright," said Goose. "But 

what's a sunset without a companion? It is best seen with 

someone by your side. Will you be my companion?"

"Pretty Goose, I would love to. But I am not your size," said 

Hummingbird. Goose was sad.

Hummingbird felt bad for the Goose. He promised himself and 

her to find her a good companion. Goose thanked him and 

offered him food and water, and he flew far away.

After flying far away, he was tired when he arrived at a 

farm. There he met Emu Bird. Knowing that Hummingbird was 

tired, Emu Bird offered him shelter, food, and water.

"Thank you, generous Emu Bird. What can I do to help you?" 

asked the Hummingbird.

"Dear Hummingbird, I feel so lonely in this place. Would you 

like to be my companion?"

"Kind Emu Bird, I would love to. But I am not your size," said 

Hummingbird. "But I do know someone who would love to. 

Unfortunately, she lives far beyond this place. If you want, I 

can deliver your message to her once I feel rested."

Emu Bird was so happy when he heard that he would finally 

get a companion. He whispered his message to the 

Hummingbird.
