MALEEKA IS LOST

Maleeka was on the road to being bully free; it 

was right in front of her face but she didn’t 

realize it. Maleeka is a student that attends 

McClenton Middle School where she meets the 

new teacher by the name of Miss Saunders. 

Maleeka feels that Miss Saunders is giving her 

a hard time so she befriends Char. Char is the 

meanest girl in the 7th grade! according to Maleeka. 

Maleeka has low self-esteem and feels that Char will 

help her change her image. Char agrees to help Maleeka 

by loaning her cool clothes in exchange for her doing all of 

her homework. 

               NO MORE FANCY CLOTHES       

One day, Char told Maleeka to give her clothes back 

from Maleeka. It was in front of everyone in the 

school hallway! Why ? She did this to embarrass 

Maleeka. It worked! Soon after Maleeka’s friend 

John-John made up a song picking at how dark her 

skin was.   It wasn’t long before her entire class was 

singing along. Maleeka was so embarrassed!

                                          NEW HAIR DO

Maleeka debuted her new haircut at school that Monday. Maleeka 

did not have any hair. Maleeka’s classmates asked “where is your 

hair”? Maleeka started to feel embarrassed from all the attention. 

Maleeka put on a cap to hide her new haircut from her classmates. 

During 4th period a classmate yanks off her hat and the class starts 

to make fun of Maleeka’s peanut head. Embarrassed she goes to the 

restroom where she sat down and asked herself why she got this 

haircut.

                                             WHO AM I?

Tears came to her eyes as she touches her head and feels the little 

hair that is left on her head. She looks in the mirror and thinks she is 

something else. She shrugs this off hoping to have a better day 

tomorrow. Maleeka wakes up early in the morning because of her 

stupid alarm clock. It rings whenever it wants.  

                                          RAGGEDY ANN 

Maleeka gets up and puts on the clothes that her mom made for 

her. Although her clothes were poorly made she still wears them. 

She hopes her mom doesn’t ask if she likes her new clothes because 

one shoulder is bigger than the other. Maleeka’s mom tries to save 

money buy making her clothes, she uses that money to buy lottery 

tickets. Maleeka kisses her mom and then rushes off to school. 

                                               BAD TASTE 

During lunch everyone was eating disgusting food especially char.  

She had lettuce in her milk and something that was probably alive 

once on her burger. Char told Maleeka to get her a better lunch. 

Maleeka said no. Char stares at Maleeka threatening to jack her up. 

After that everyone goes back to their class. Maleeka is relieved.

                                                  FLUNKIE

In class Char and her friends asked Maleeka if she did their 

homework. Maleeka pulled out the papers and handed it to the 

girls. The girls went on with their day and left Maleeka alone for 

the time being.   A few days pass and Maleeka is back hanging out 

with Char and her friends.   Maleeka tries to leave Char but she 

threatens Maleeka.   Char said “you will come with me if you know 

what’s best for you”. She goes with Char and skips out on her work 

duties with the school.

                                              IT'S PARTY TIME

The next day is Saturday morning. Maleeka’s mother makes her do 

work for the longest. Maleeka’s mom is not even paying her for all 

the work Maleeka is doing. After all that work Maleeka went down to 

Char’s place. When Maleeka got to Chars there was a party going on. 

Char was exhausted from the party. She wasn’t dancing, she like a 

servant working for her older sister. 

                                HERE COMES TROUBLE 

When Maleeka left Char house she ran into these unfamiliar boys 

hassling her. They called her names and followed her down the 

street.   Maleeka heard a lady across the street tell the boys to leave 

her alone. This only made the boys pick on her more. Maleeka left 

and went across the street were there were a lot of vacant houses. 

                                BOYS BOYS GO AWAY

She shakes her head no why the boys are laughing. Maleeka kicks 

the boy who was holding her. Then she bites the other guy.  

Maleeka starts crying as she heads back to her house.   On the way 

home she sees sweets. Sweets was on her way to the store to get 

something for her parents.   Maleeka tells her what happen but 

makes her swear not to say anything.
