Chapter 1: Making New Friends

I rummaged through the garbage can looking for something good to eat, then I heard something. What could it be? A dog, a human, or could it be--- another cat? Just then a white cat pounced on me! I tried to get out of its grip but it was too strong for me to escape.

I start thrashing my claws at it, then I feel my claws cut through some of its fur, and the cat lets go of me. I get back up on my legs ready to fight if the cat strikes again. "Who are you?", I ask. The mysterious cat didn't reply. "Why did you try to kill me?" "I wasn't trying to kill you," the cat said, "I was just trying to get some food." "You know you could just ask," I say. "Well most cats don't like to share," the cat replied.

"What's your name?", I ask. "Zara," she said. "I'm Fearless," I say, "nice to meet you." Zara nodded her head. I guess that means "nice to meet you too." "Well," I say, "would you like to find something good to eat with me?" "That would be nice," Zara said. As we eat leftover pieces of chicken I had to ask, "Where are you from?" "Connecticut," she answered. "Connecticut," I say, "but we're in California.

How did you get from Connecticut to California?" "My owners and I flew over here." "Oh, so you're a pet," I say. "Not anymore," Zara said. "Oh," I say, "I'm sorry." "Don't be," she said, "I live a better life now that I'm on my own, and besides there's nothing you can do about it. My owners--- well the people who used to own me moved to Kansas." I felt kinda sorry for her, her owners just leaving her like that. That must have been hard.

We sat in silence for a while then she got up and said, "Well, thank you for letting me eat with you." "Anytime," I say. Zara nods her head and leaves the ally. As I start finishing up my lunch, a trash can falls down.

"What?", I say. "Zara--- is that you?" Just then two cats start walking toward me, and one of them said, "I'm sorry to disturb you, but my brother and I are really hungry, and we saw you eating with that other cat so we thought it was okay for us to get some food."

I look at them for a while then the cat continues, "It's alright if you don't want us to be here, we'll just get out of hair and 

leave---" "No!", I say. Both of them stop. "I mean, it's alright if you want some food, you're welcome to have as much as you want,"

They both start smiling. When they got what they want they both said, "Thank you very much." "No problem," I say, "You can eat whatever you want here any time of the day, I don't mind." They both nod their heads and leave the ally. I don't think I've ever made this many friends in one day.

Well, I don't know if Zara and I are "best friends" but I think we are. As I leave the ally I accidentally run into another cat. "Oh," I say, "Sorry that I'm in your way." The cat just looks at me and doesn't say a word. "Okay, well nice meeting you," I say. The cat still didn't say anything. We stand in silence for a while then the cat finally says, "I'm Rowan."

"That's a cool name. I'm Fearless." "Cool," Rowan says, "I hope you don't mind me eating here." "Why are cats always asking me if they can eat here?

It's not like I own the ally." Rowan looks at me weirdly. "Sorry," I say, "of course, you can eat here. Anybody's welcome." "You know," Rowan says, "you're probably the nicest cat I've ever met." "Thanks," I say. Rowan smiles and walks past me to the trash cans.

Chapter II: It's Like It Was Destiny

When I woke up the next morning all the cats I had met yesterday were at the ally. "Hey Zara and Rowan," I say. "Hey," they both said at the same time. "Oh," I say, "I didn't catch you guys' names." "Oh," one of them said, "I'm Milo and this is my sister Violet." "Nice to see you guys again," I say.

"Nice to see you again as well," said Violet. Zara was about to say something but then she froze with fear. "What is it?", I say. everyone leaves the ally. I look behind me and I see a dog standing right in front of me.

"Oh no," I say. I start running away from the dog as fast as I can, but the dog seems to be catching up to me!

How is this dog catching up to me? I kept running but the dog didn't seem like it was slowing down any time soon, so I had to climb a tree to get away from it. While the dog barked its head off, I was trying to find a way off the tree without the dog spotting me and eating me.

There was no possible way I would make it out of here. I would just have to wait until the dog left. All of the sudden the dog stops barking and looks at Violet who was hiding in a corner. The dog starts to approach Violet. I have to do something!

I go to the very end of a branch that wouldn't hold me for very long, so I jumped off of it and onto the dog biting it by the neck. The dog starts to shake me off but I hold my grip on its neck. Then the dog threw me off onto the hard ground. But I wasn't going to give up.

I get back on my paws ready to fight back. The dog starts running toward me. I can do this. I was ready for the dog to slam me into the wall behind me. But before it could Zara jumps on top of it and starts to fight. Rowan and Milo also joined the fight and fought the dog. I wasn't going to let them have all the fun, so I started fighting the dog too. Violet also wanted some of the action so she also joins and fights the dog.

Now everyone was fighting the dog, we were all working as a team. Then Zara shouts, "Everyone get off the dog!" So we all do as she said. We were ready to beat up the dog even more, but the dog was too scared to fight us, so it left. We all start breathing heavily after the ferocious fight that had now ended. "Did we just do that?", asked Violet. "Heck yeah we did!", said Rowan. We all start cheering together because we just survived a ferocious

dog who almost killed us. This was amazing! It's like it was destiny for us to be a team! Then--- I felt someone watching us, so I stopped. Violet asks, "Why aren't you cheering with us?" "Because someone's watching us," I say. I look all around to see where it would be watching us, then I see two blue eyes staring at me from the shadows of the ally.

I hiss.

"Who are you?", I say. Everyone stops cheering. "Who am I?", the animal said coming out of the shadows, "--- I'm a cat." "I know you're a cat I'm saying what's your name?", I say louder. "My name is Cadence," the cat said, "It's nice to meet you Fearless." "What? How do you know my name?", I ask. Cadence smiles. "And it's nice to meet you Zara, Rowan, Milo, and Violet." Violet comes closer to me and whispers, "How does she know our names?"

"I don't know," I say. "Look," Cadence said, "I don't mean to cause you any trouble but I was just wondering if you would like to be Warriors of mine." "Warriors," I say, "why would we want to be warriors?" "Because you have bravery, strength, and confidence--- I was just assuming you would like to be warriors."

Chapter III: Hello--- Master

When Cadence left the ally, we finished eating the rest of our meals, and once we were done we all said our goodbyes and left. As I was going to sleep that night, I thought about Cadneces' words "I was just wondering if you would like to be warriors". The thought of it sounded cool, but I was also thinking about the possibilities if I did become a warrior.

The next day everyone was back at the ally munching on some pieces of chicken, steak, and french fries. Then Rowan said, "Can you imagine us--- being warriors?" He started laughing after he said that. Which I don't think was very funny. "I mean---," 

Violet said, "we could be if we trained hard enough and believe in

ourselves." "Violet," Milo said, "we're not going to be warriors." The happiness from Violet faded away like it wasn't even there before. They kept eating in silence for a little longer until I said, "I think we can." Everyone looks at me confused. My heart started pounding with all the attention on me.

Then Zara said, "What did you say?" "I-I said--- I think we can. We can be warriors." Everyone looked at me even more confused, except for Violet who was smiling. "You're crazy!", exclaimed Milo. "I think we can," I say, "Just like Violet said, we could be if we train hard enough and believe in ourselves."

"It's worth a shot," said Violet. Zara, Milo, and Rowan looked at each other questioning if they should at least try. Then Milo spoke up, "You know, maybe becoming warriors isn't such a bad idea. I'm in!"

We stood in silence for a long while then Rowan said, "Fine. I'll try it." Violet smiled. "But if it turns out to be a big fail," he continued, " then I'm leaving." Now all who was left was Zara. The most stubborn of us all. She looked at all of us. "Okay," she said. Violet started cheering, and we all start laughing.

The next day...

"So--- what do we do?", asked Rowan. "I don't know," I say, "I guess we just--- wait." I was hoping Cadence would just appeared magical and say, "Ready to train?". Nope. We just sat there waiting for someone who would probably never come. "I'm leaving," said Zara. "No!", I say, "just--- wait a few more minutes. Please!" 

Zara shook her head. "Maybe she'll come tomorrow," Zara said leaving the ally. Well--- that's one down four to go. Just then Cadence appeared. "Zara!", Violet shouted, "she's here!" Zara turns back around and walks toward us. "How are all of you today?", asks Cadence. "We're good," we all say at the same time. "Good," she said.

"So," Violet began, "we decided to become warriors." Cadence smiled. "I knew you would," Cadence responds. "Zara," she said catching Zara's attention, "you need to have more faith." "Huuh?", Zara said confused. Cadence continued, "You didn't believe I was coming." "Well---," Zara said, "we were sitting here for hours waiting for you and---," Cadence cut her off. "The only reason I waited--- was to see who would leave first. Now I know you need more training than the others."
