Background info
Fidel Castro was born on August 13,
1927 he was born near his fathers
farm in Southeast Cuba. He lived on
his fathers farm in his younger years.
He spent much of his time as a child
at catholic school, doing well in
sports.

Castro studied law at the
university of Havana and was
suddenly involved in politics. He
joined the Caribbean legion in
1947, which is a group of political
exiles from Caribbean countries.

Castro grew up wealthy. He
was intellectually gifted, but
more interested in sports
than school work. He
pitched for the school's
baseball team.

He went to the Dominican
Republic to overthrow the
dictator Rafael Trujillo.
The coup failed before it
got started, but the
incident didn't harm
Castro's passion for
reform.

Since the citizens were being
constantly watched, they must be
careful of their actions and what
they were saying. The CDR had to
know what everyone was doing.

Some of the Cubans
have been imprisoned in
extremely poor
conditions without trial.
There were thousands of
executions.

Thousands of political
opponents to the Castro
regime have been killed,
during his first year of
dictatorship. Castro
acknowledges that Cuba
holds political prisoners.

This particular topic
relates to the united
states, all of the America's
and the cold war in many
different ways.

Just like fidel castro
leading Cuba during the
cold war, there were
other leaders in the
united states and latin
america.

Just like what fidel
castro did in Cuba, in
Latin America Allende
was treating his citizen
bad also.
