We all have successes and failures in our
lives.
One of these people that we are going to be
talking about is JFK. He was a president of the
United States.

John F. Kennedy was an American politician who
served as our 35th President of the United
States.
He served from January 1961 until he was
assassinated in November 1963.

JFK inspired many people. His biggest failure was
getting killed.
Most of his success was because of the foreign
policy in the Cold War.
He had always continued to support West Berlin.

One of the most obvious failures of JFK is the Bay
of Pigs.
This made JFK look weak and as a bad president
because he allowed the invasion of Cuba but
weren't able to support it.
His major success was the Cuban Missile Crisis.
It made him look like a great leader because he
prevented the nuclear war and made the USSR
back down.

Another accomplishment is the
establishment of the Peace Corps,
an organization that is now
responsible for sending thousands
of American volunteers around the
world to help the needy.
Another Failure was the U.S.
initiatives in Western Europe, such
as support for British entry into
the European Economic Community
and European defense integration.

JFK was an active Cold Warrior. This soon ran
aground in Cuba, where he was humiliated in the
1961 Bay of Pigs Invasion and where the 1962
Cuban Missile Crisis nearly led to nuclear
holocaust. Spooked by the near-disaster of the
Missile Crisis, Kennedy subsequently pursued more
moderate policies with regard to the Soviet Union.
