Olivia is 12 and lives in a small village in New Zealand which she loves.

However, she is sometimes sad because there are no children in her village. The nearest school is 40 minutes away so she can't play with anyone.

One day she was walking along the beach when she heard someone sing. She looked around and ... what a surprise! There was a boy her age walking with a dog.

Hi! I'm Richard and this is my dog, Mitzi. I've come to live over here because my parents have a new online job and they don't want to live in town anymore. 

I've got some good news for you then! I have 3 siblings. What's more, 2 of my cousins are also coming to live over here. So they'll be 7 of us!

That's great! There aren't any children over here and I sometimes get bored.

True! Then there's going to be 12 of us because Mitzi has 5 puppies.

I can't believe it! I feel so lucky right now. Oh! We didn't count Mitzi.
