This is Jacob. Jacob is a very happy and outgoing kid that loves learning and enjoys waking up and going to school every day. His mom makes him breakfast every morning to help get his day started.

He rides the bus every morning, where he socializes with other kids in his class. He always finds a way to make others laugh with his infectious energy.

This is Andrew. He never gets to see his parents much and he doesn't know why. He normally has to get up in the morning by himself and prepare for school alone.

He, unfortunately, has to walk to school every morning as it is his only way. He wishes that things would be better for him.

Jacob and Andrew are in the same class as one another. They have never crossed paths with one another because Andrew closes himself off from his other classmates. 

One day, during their time for recess, Jacob notices Andrew being to himself while everyone plays. He figures that he is sad that no one wants to play with him so he decides to try to be his friend.
