"You'll Never Believe Why I Was Late to School Today"

To start, write a prompt on the board. “You’ll never believe why I was late to school today!” Then, give each student 3 strips of paper. Have them write a random 1 verb and 2 nouns each on a separate piece. When gathering the strips, place all the verb papers in one bag and the noun papers in another bag. Mix, and redistribute the words to the students (1 verb and 2 nouns) Tell them that they need to create a story on “why they were late to school” using the random words given to them on the strips of paper.
