"what will happen to me when i get eaten?!?!"
Once upon a time there lived a piece of ham called Hammy. He's always wondered what was going to happen to him during digestion.

Scared out of his mind, Hammy is unfortunately picked to be eaten. Let Hammy's adventure through the digestive system begin

The first place Hammy will go is in the mouth. In the mouth mechanical digestion occurs, the teeth break Hammy up into smaller pieces. Then small pieces of hammy travel to the esophagus.
The second place Hammy will go is the esophagus. Muscle's line this hollow organ to push the food to the stomach
"WHOAAAA"
Next Hammy will go to the stomach. In the stomach chemical digestion occurs. An enzyme called pepsin breaks Hammy's protein into amino acids. Enzymes are proteins that speed up chemical reactions
The fourth place Hammy will go is the small intestine. The enzymes Pancreatic Protease, and Pancreatic Lipases are produced in the pancreas and transported to the small intestine. Pancreatic Protease breaks Hammy's other proteins into amino acids, and Pancreatic Lipases breaks Hammy's fats
into fatty acids and glycerol. The monomers are absorbed into the blood stream. The gallbladder, which stores bile that breaks down fatty foods, sends bile to the small intestine. This is all chemical digestion.
The little parts of Hammy that have not yet been digested travel to the large intestine. In the large intestine water is removed through absorption, and compact waste is transferred to your rectum
