Introduction

What is a cellphone?

A cell phone is an electronic invention that lets us call 

our friends and families. We can text, play games, and 

watch videos on it. We can use it to communicate by 

calling people and texting and video chatting. A cell 

phone can also take pictures and video.

Should we have Cellphones? 

Please read the arguments on the following pages and 

decide if children should have a cell phone or should not 

have a cell phone.

Cell Phones are Needed for Emergencies

“Sometimes we have emergencies like heart attack or fire and we can use 

the cell phone to call 911.”

Cellphones are good to have for emergencies.   The first reason we should 

have a phone is because bad things can happen and we might need a 

phone to call 911. 911 can call the police or send an ambulance if its 

needed. The second reason we need a phone is because if we don’t have a 

land line and we need to make phone calls we will not be able to. 

Sometimes our parents have to call our doctors to make appointments. 

They might also have to call school to say we will be late and need a cell 

phone to do that if we don’t have a land line. 

I think cell phones are necessary in case we have emergencies and we do 

not have a land line at home.

Spend Too Much Time Using the Phone

much time playing on his cell phone."

Cellphones are not good for kids because they spend all time 

with them. Kids spend time playing games and not reading. 

Kids play but do not like to exercise. Kids spend time seeing 

their phone and do not talk to there family   and friends. Kids 

text and don't go outside to play with there brothers. I think 

cell phones are not good for kids because they use it more 

and forget about their family and exercising.

Celulares nos ayudan para las tareas. Los celulares tienen 

applicaciones para matematicas. Los celulares tienen Reflex 

Math para la escuela y para la casa. Reflex es un juego para 

aprender matematicas como suma o resta. Los celulares 

tienen internet para buscar informacion. Tu nesesitas 

informacion para la tarea como traducir palabras. Yo creo que 

los celulares son buenos porque se pueden usar para la tarea.

Fun With Cellphones

Cellphones are good because we can have fun with them. 

One reason is that we can play games on our cellphones. We 

can play Subway Surfer and Candy Crush on our cellphones. 

Another reason is that we can watch videos and listen to 

music on our cellphones. WE can watch movies like Frozen. 

We can sing songs and watch you tube videos. Another 

reason is that we can take pictures with our friends and 

families. We think cell phones are necessary because kids 

can have fun with them.

Cell phones are not good because they cost too much 

money. Mom and dad have other things to buy. We don't 

want to waste our parents money by asking for a phone. 

They have to buy clothes, things for school like supplies, 

and pay bills and rent. If you have   a cell phone that costs 

$640 and a you break it your parents have to pay for 

another one. Cell phones cost too much money and that's a 

waste of our parents money. Some parents don't work and 

they don't have money. We should not have cell phones 

because our parents do not have a lot of money.
