Mental Health
what is mental health?
Mental health impacts the ways you feel, see, act and handle situations. The state of a persons mental health directly impacts their personal relationships, and behavior. It also impairs ones ability to make good choices and behave. Mental Health naturally connects with other parts of someones well-being, such as the mental and emotional state of a person. Your mental well-being is made up of your outlook on life. Whether you have a optimistic or a pessimistic view on life, mental well-being affects your mood, and the way you think and behave. A persons point of view on life determines how they are affected by interactions in their daily life.

Recognizing Mental illness

Mental disorders typically present themselves throughout teenage years, although other factors can cause a mental illness to develop, such as life experiences, which involves trauma/abuse, stress, unhappiness, self isolation and, bad coping skills. Environmental factors, and biological factors, such as genes or a preexisting history of mental illness in your family can also be the reason for a sudden decline in mental health.
What causes/triggers depression?
Research has suggested that these factors may cause changes in brain function. National Institutes of Health says, “According to an fMRI study, decreased brain activity in the hippocampus, along with Reduced gray matter volume and reduced functional activity in the hippocampus leads to negative emotion and the inability of cognitive processing in depressive patients.”
