“Hurry! You are going to be late on the first day!” My rushed big sister, Marin, yelled fiercely from the bottom of the stairs. I woke up, got dressed, brushed my hair and ran downstairs in a heartbeat. “Yeesh, calm down. I'm almost ready.” I said as I squirted opal blue toothpaste on my sparkly green toothbrush.
“Do you even know what the time is?” queried Marin as she entered the bathroom. I hunched my shoulders and gazed at my watch. I shuddered, remembering that I needed to arrive earlier than usual. “I promise you that I will make my own sandwich. You don't have to.”
“Whatever you say, Belle.”
My sister scoffed as she turned around and disappeared from the bathroom.
I rolled my eyes as I rinsed my mouth and washed my pale face. I dried my face and exited the bathroom and saw Marin packing my lunchbox.
She then stuffed it in my bag and put ice in my turquoise bottle. “You better be grateful.” she said as she threw my navy blue bag on the floor. I trotted to my pantry and reached out for the cereal box. But, in the corner of my eye I saw a box I've never seen in my life. “What’s taking you so long?” Marin death-stared me as my eyes were fixated on the mysterious cardboard container. It was shining violet and lilac and the bottom was a pitch black base darker than a thousand midnights and was studded with pierced diamonds all over. “Hello? Are you deaf?” She taunted furiously. I snapped back into the present and realised what I was there for. “Marin, it takes more than a second.” I argued as I snatched the Milo from the middle shelf.
A few minutes later, My cereal was all gobbled up and my milk was gone from the cup as quick as it came. I was walking out the door with my backpack on my shoulder and was about to close the door behind me when my sister tossed my hat to my face as she said, “Almost forgot this!"
I waved to Marin and closed the door behind me and walked down the driveway. As I travelled to school, the only thing that was on my mind was the wondrous box that somehow ended up in my pantry. I thought of all the outstanding things that might be sealed under its lid. Most of my thoughts were wolves, but that sounded a little far fetched. Maybe there’s a wolf pup in there! I exclaimed in my head. Then I paused, and started laughing like crazy.“Hahaha! In your dreams, Belle!” I struggled to say as my lungs were bursting with laughter and my eyes were watering. Once I finally caught my breath, I started walking again. Then, I felt something gaze down at me from the top of a great, pink blossom tree. Was it a bird? No, it was way too big for one. I finally looked up at the tree to investigate. But it disappeared as quick as a flash. I tilted my head, then shrugged. I then started running all the way to the school, wondering what I just saw.
Well, another day of school just passed and it was so boring. There’s too much homework and I don’t even go on my laptop a lot. Anyway, I just arrived at my house and opened the door as I entered the silent living room. “I’m home!” I yelled, breaking the silence of the house. My dog, Dasha, sprinted to me with her tail wagging so much, it hit my leg! I fell onto my knees and cuddled her as she licked my face with excitement. “Dasha, stop!” I chuckled as I scratched her on the neck. She soon calmed down and galloped to her bed, and waited for me to cover her
