Its 1861, and I a random onlooker has just witnessed the first attack in
this war to be. Abraham Lincoln was just inaugurated as president. I am
at Fort Sumter and the newly formed Confederate States just attacked
and won over the Union. The Confederate States just executed a very
well planned attack. This was the first battle but I can already see
strategies forming.
The South is lucky to have such a great General. But the Union is also
lucky in a way for they have a new General with all new tactics.

The Civil War was full of great strategies coming from The
Confederate States and the Union. The Confederate States used
basic strategies to try to win the war.
While the Union used a strategy called the "Anaconda Plan". The
Anaconda Plan had three basic steps, Step 1 was to cut off all
routes from the sea. This would make trade very difficult for the
South. Step 2 was to split the South into 2 parts using the
Mississippi River as a divide between the two different parts. The
third step was to capture Richmond, Va and dismantle the
Confederate government. The first and second step were both
successful but the the Union was never able to capture Richmond.

It's 1865, and the war is now over. The death count is over
620,000 lives lost, and millions more injured. Not only was the
cost of live very high, but the cost of the whole war was in the
millions.
All though the war was very bad in costs of life. It did improve
the economy of both sides of the war. Not only did people get
paid to be employed. But there was many other jobs also
created.

The jobs that were created in the civil war including jobs likes
making guns, making ammo, building ships, building cannons,
and many many more jobs that follow in that line.

The Civil War was full of a bunch of influences. The
soldiers all needed something to fight for. And the
slaves needed hope.
When the slaves in the Confederate States heard
about the war going on to try to free them it made
them feel like they had something to fight for.

The Constitution had a big role in the Civil War. The
Constitution states that all men be created equal. This
made the slaves even more angry then they already were.

It's November 19, 1863. And I'm here in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Abraham just gave his new speech. And I already know this is gonna
cause a lot of conflict.

The Gettysburg Address was a way for President Lincoln to
show that this is the end of the war. After 5 years of battle
Lincoln was done loosing troops and wanted the war to end.
The Gettysburg Address took place on November 19, 1863 in
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It was used to rally the war effort.
The Gettysburg Address drew a lot from the Declaration of
Independence.

The Emancipation Proclamation was supposed to
be a big turning point in the war. But if anything it
just angered the South even more.
