Callie Crawford was a 3rd grader at Smith Elementary School. Her teacher was Ms. Long. She LOVED school!

Callie and her friends loved recess time. They played on the swings, went down the slides, and played hide and seek.

One day at recess, Callie saw her classmate Jordan sitting by herself on the swings. It made Callie sad, but she didn't know what to do.

The next day at music class, Callie heard something that she knew she had to do something about.

You're a loser and no one likes you Jordan!

When Callie got back to class, she couldn't stop thinking of what Kase said to Jordan. She had to do something...

Callie had the perfect idea! She was going to start a kindness club with her friends. They would tell Ms. Long about it in the morning so she could tell the class.

Ms. Long addressed the class the next morning: "Good morning class! We have an exciting project we are starting today. Around the class, I've heard some students not including others. I know that if someone were to pick on me or call me names all of the time, it would make me really upset. So, Callie, do you want to tell us the idea you have about this?"

"Well, I think we should make it a challenge to be nice to everyone we see. We can call it Kindness Club. Let's go out of our way to be nice to others. Compliment them, ask them to sit with you, play with them at recess, you name it! I think we can make Smith Elementary School a better place by doing this. So who's in?" Callie said. 

The whole class erupted in cheers. Callie felt like this might just work.
