To my son, I hope this is something you will always cherish. I am so proud of you! If you always do your very best you will always succeed.

It was that time of year again, baseball season!
Alex loved baseball. It was his favorite sport. He could not wait to see who all would be on his team.
Alex spotted Brandon. Brandon was one of Alexe's best friends from school. Alex asked if Brandon wanted to go out on the field and warm up while they waited for the rest of the team. "Oh no!" said Brandon "Joe's on our team."

Joe thought he was the best baseball player there ever was. "Hey losers I can't believe you even showed up after you missed the ball that cost us the game last season, you're not even that good, but I guess everyone can't be as good as me." said Joe. "I never miss."

"I'm the best there is."
"It's not about how good you are," said Brandon. "It is how we work together as a team as long as we all do our best". "Well, I am the best! Without me this team would lose." said Joe.
Alex and Brandon ignored Joe and contunied to throw the ball.

Today was the big day! First game of the season. Joe was first up to bat, "Watch out guys let me show you how it's done!" He said.
On the first pitch Joe hit the ball all the way to the outfield. He ran to first, but tripped over the base and twisted his ankle. "Ahhhh!" yelled Joe. "My leg!"
"TIME OUT!" Yelled the umpire. Joe could hardly stand. "You're not going to be able to run." said the umpire.
