For my mom & dad

The Redwood Forest was full of singing birds, croaking frogs, and grazing deer.

Sally was sitting on her front porch eating an apple from the store when she thought she could have an apple planting challenge with Johnny Appleseed.

They started at the edge of the Redwood Forest. For days, they planted and planted apple seeds. Sally ran into a problem. There was not enough room to plant her orchard.

Her solution was to grow the trees taller than a skyscraper. It didn't work because the trees were blocking the sunlight, so they wouldn't grow.

Sally Ann thought and thought...."Maybe I can plant the seeds in the sky," she said. So, she planted the rest of the seeds in the sky by making friends with the birds and having them drop the seeds in the clouds.

Finally, the contest was over and Sally had won!

To celebrate, Sally went to a wood cutting show and met Mike Fink there.

At the show, Mike Fink and Sally fell in love.
Sally married Mike Fink.

After they finally got settled into their new home, an alligator arrived. The alligator was actually Pecos Bill dressed in a costume.

Sally, who was reading a book to her baby boy, Hardstone, quickly made a tornado as big as a mountain to make the alligator go away.

The tornado was so big that it threw Pecos Bill to Japan. After that, Sally was well know for her tornadoes.

Sally decided to take Hardstone for a ride on a train adventure.

Sally & Hardstone

Along the way on the train, Sally found herself in front of a big rock that was as bumpy as a mountain.
