position, rotate, translate.

the map showed the island as a 

coordinate plane where jack had to 

do different transformations to get 

to the treasure.

Jake took out the 

map and looked 

at it. the 

intersection he 

was were two 

lines meet and 

create a point . 

the palm tree was 

on the vertex . he 

was at point.

he then ,rotate his image at the the angle of  

rotation of 180 degrees at point (0,1)

then translate his position 2 units up and 1 to 

the right. this put him in the middle of a 

rectangle image labeled ABCD where 

corresponding sides are parallel lines.

he rotated   his rectangle at the angle of 

rotation of 360 degrees at (3,1), so that the 

rectangle is onto itself and is still in its same 

position and congruent to the pre-image 

captain jack wrote down isometry ABCD-

A'B'C'D' to remember that the rectangle   ABCD 

in its new location is still congruent.

then, him to go to the endpoint B of line 

segment AB and reflect so   that the rectangle 

is onto itself and congruent. He wrote down 

another istometry A'B'C'D'-A''B''C''D''

he then, 

translated his 

current image 

on the endpoint 

B' 3 units up 

and 4 to the left 

. the place 

where the stood 

was where the 

X' was to he 

knew that he 

found the 

treasure that he 

was looking for.
