Apples is a traditional game played in Greece. In many countries of the world there are different variations of the game.

Description

Two players stand facing each other, fifteen to twenty meters away from each other, while in the middle of this distance gather as many members as they have designated. The two players standing opposite try with the ball to hit one of the children inside, it "burns" and comes out of the game. On the contrary, the child who manages to catch the ball without falling down wins "an apple" which will allow him, if at some point he "burns" not to leave, but to remain in the game, or, if one of his friends burns, to grant it!

When there is only one child left, the two players with the ball can only make ten attempts to hit it. After 10 hits the game ends, the students on the outside change and the game starts again.

Field selection is made by mutual footstepping method (as a result of counting) of both team captains.

                 Traditional Turkish Children's Game

Handkerchief Snatch Game

                       Handkerchief snatch game is a traditional children's                                   game played in Turkey.

The team with the right to choose informs the referee whether to attack or defend during the set. The team that chooses the offensive right must take the handkerchief until the set is over. However, if the defending team wishes, they can take the handkerchief. (If the defender does not take it, the offensive player must). If there is no player receiving the handkerchief within 30 seconds, the offensive player is eliminated.

                           When the referee blows his whistle, the players start running                                                   towards  the handkerchief. Offense time is 30 seconds.

    It is forbidden to touch the referee holding a handkerchief during the game. The player who touches it is eliminat

         Süre hakemin çıkış işareti ile başlar. 30 saniye dolmadan oyunculardan biri mendili alıp kendi yarı sahasında mendille çizgiyi geçmelidir. Mendili eline alan oyuncu; Mendil ile birlikte tek ayakla kendi çizgisine (kale çizgisine) basması yeterlidir.

                                          Bir oyuncu mendilini kapar ve bitiş çizgisini rakip oyuncuya yakalanmadan kendi yarı sahasında geçerse takım 1 sayı alır, rakip oyuncu oyundan çıkar ve o oyuncu set boyunca tekrar oyuna giremez. 

             Oyun sonunda rakip takımın 10 oyuncusunu da oyundan çıkaran takım seti kazanır.

Players first form a circle,

 holding hands. Then they 

turn and sing the song of 

the play:

"box box pliers

If he eats my apple

My friend ….......

If he turns his back."

The name of one player is spoken at a time. The named player turns around and this song is repeated until all the players are finished.

If you want, you can sing the song using your own rhymes.

Oyuncular önce el ele tutuşarak daire olurlar. Sonra dönerek oyunun şarkısını söylerler:

"Kutu kutu pense

Elmamı yerse

Arkadaşım ….......

Arkasını dönse."

Her seferinde bir oyuncunun adı söylenir.Adı söylenen oyuncu arkasını döner ve bu şarkı,tüm oyuncular bitene kadar tekrarlanır.

Κυνηγητό με ουρές- Tail hunting  game

Tail hunting is a traditional game played in Greece. 

Target:Endurance, fast reflections, direction changing, visual acuity , ideal for warm up.

Students age: 4 years +

Equipment: Fabric or plastic strips

Description: 

Every kid has a tail.

When the whistle blows every kid tries to steal as many tails he can from the other kids, in order to become the one with most of them.

They can’t defend their tail using their hands, but if a kid has his tail stolen he still can play.

Winner is the kid that have stolen the most tails.

Dodgeball game, which is also known by different names such as "yanmaca" or "yakartop" in our country - Turkey, is one of the most popular children's games.

Since the game has simple rules to follow and it includes both physical activity and fun together, it is frequently played in the streets and during recess times at school. 

There is no fixed amount of players that are needed to play the game. The number of players may vary from small to large numbers.

The only equipment needed is a ball which is not too hard in order not to hurt anyone.

To play the dodgeball game, children are divided into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A is also separated into two. The main objective of the game is to eliminate all members of Group B by throwing the ball at them. So, Group A members stand on both sides of the area. Group B members stand in between the members of Group A players. While Group A players are throwing the ball, Group B players try to run away and not to be hit by the ball. When all of the Group B players are eliminated, Group A's turn to escape from the ball starts.

ΑΓΑΛΜΑΤΑΚΙΑ ΑΚΟΥΝΗΤΑ - UNMOVABLE STATUETTES 

Unmovable statuettes is a traditional game played in Greece.

Target:

Development of observation, balance and speed.

Students age:

8 - 10

Equipment:

No needed

Description

Students stand in a straight line next to each other. Opposite them at some distance is another student(hunter) who stands in front of a tree trunk. When the hunter turns his face to the tree trunk,  he  closes his eyes and he shouts : "1,2,3 red light" and the rest of the students move to his side. As soon as he  finishes the sentence, he turns to the students who must be unmovable. If the hunter  sees someone moving that student is out of the game. After the hunter turns on his back again and the game continues in the same way untill someone touches him to his back. Then everyone(even those who have left the game) run in order to return to the starting line. The student that the hunter touches takes his place.

   “Lily lily turn around and look.” The part is repeated until the midwife drops the handkerchief in her hand. The student, whose handkerchief was left behind by the midwife, picks up the handkerchief from the ground and tries to catch the midwife. The person who is the midwife runs (until he makes a lap) until his friend is seated. If he is not caught, his friend becomes the new midwife. If caught, the midwife resumes midwifery. The game continues in this way.
