Göbekli tepe(Şanlı Urfa)

Ahmet Safa, Amasya
Göbekli Tepe is an ancient archaeological site located in southeastern Turkey, near the city of Şanlıurfa. The site is believed to be one of the oldest human-made structures in the world, with some estimates dating it back to as early as 11,000 BCE.
The site was discovered in the 1960s by a group of Turkish archaeologists, but it wasn't until the 1990s that it gained widespread attention from the international community. Excavations at the site have revealed a series of monumental stone pillars arranged in circles, some of which are up to 18 feet tall.
The pillars at Göbekli Tepe are intricately carved with animal figures and other symbols, leading archaeologists to believe that the site may have been used for religious or ceremonial purposes. Some experts have even suggested that it could have been the world's first temple.
The construction of such a complex site at such an early time in human history is considered to be a remarkable feat of engineering and organization. It is believed that the site was constructed by a highly organized society of hunter-gatherers, who may have come together to build the site as part of a larger social or religious movement.
Despite its significance, much about the history and purpose of Göbekli Tepe remains a mystery. Archaeologists continue to excavate the site and study the artifacts found there in order to learn more about this ancient culture and their beliefs.
