Never forget how much I love you and remember to always do your best and forget the rest
Love, Mom

On Saturday my parents were arguing. They always argue but this time it felt different. I wish my parents could get along.
Both of my parents sat down with me and explained that they were having problems and that they needed some time apart. So that meant my dad was no longer going to live with us.
"Mom and I will always love you," said my dad but we are better off living apart.
I felt sick to my stomach. I kept asking Why is Dad moving away?
Then I remembered. Last week. Mom had seen the new game my dad had bought me. She and Dad had a huge fight over money. So, it was my fault!
"You can return the game!" I shouted I don't need it!"
That's when my mom hugged me and said that I hadn't done anything wrong. That this was all a grown-up problem.
I went to school the next day and all I could think about was my parents getting back together.
I was worried and kept asking myself if my dad would be okay living by himself. Or why this had to happen to my family.
My teacher knew about the separation. My mom called her. At the end of the week, my teacher helped me join a group with other kids whose parents were split up too.
Our school counselor Mrs. Zamorano is really nice. She taught us that keeping feelings bottled up is not good.

I learned a lot in the group. Whenever I am mad, upset, or sad I play soccer and kick the ball around.
When I don't understand something, I ask my mom and dad questions.

When I miss my dad I just call him.

When I just need to talk. I can always count on my best friend Gianluca, he is a good listener.
